~ VIRTU RESTAURANT
Project: Virtu Restaurant, Rochester, NY
Completed: 2006
Category: Commercial > $500,000
"Opened in early 2007, Virtu made an immediate impact on the dining scene of Downtown Rochester. Aside from the wonderful dishes and drinks available, this unique space gives guests the illusion of dining in New York City or even Seattle. The multi-level floor plan allows guests different perspectives of Rochester’s new skyline or giving the guest whom is sitting away from the windows a spectacle of textures and light.
Designed by Architect Norbert Hausner, President/owner of NH Architecture, P.C., and located on the ground floor of Corn Hill Landing this space takes advantage of natural lighting during the daylight hours while transforming itself into a chic bistro during the twilight hours.
In the main dining room one finds themselves surrounded by windows, but at night this room comes alive with indirect rope lighting behind the cloud like soffits, constantly changing led lights around the columns atop the city-scape wall. Even the restrooms have been given extra attention in lighting these spaces. From the hand-blown glass fixture on the vaulted ceiling to the amber colored wall scones no detail was overlooked in this space."
